Kōnane Backpack (Slim Tech)
About The ArtKōnane Kōnane means Bright moonlight; to shine, as the moon; clear, bright. It is also an ancient Hawaiian game resembling checkers, played with pebbles placed in even lines on a stone or wood board. It is also a Kapa-beater design. This hand-drawn ʻOhe Kapala (bamboo stamping) design created by Malialuika was arranged exactly as it would have been traditionally stamped on kapa (traditional bark fabric). This design is made up of several bamboo stamp patterns and manipulated. The result is a pop art abstract representing the game, the bright moonlight and a carved kapa beater design. Stamped Kapa is the true Hawaiian "Aloha" print versus what is marketed and sold around the world since the advent of tourism in the 1950s.
