Hele Swim Cover Up/Lavalava/Pareo (Blue)
About The ArtHele Blue This hand-drawn ʻOhe Kapala (bamboo stamping) design created by Malialuika was arranged exactly as it would have been traditionally stamped on Kapa. the word “Hele” means “to go” the stamp can be arranged in different ways to mean different things. In this case, the hele design indicates forward movement. Kapa is a traditional fabric made from the inner bark of a local tree, then soaked and pounded and joined to make a whole fabric. These were then bamboo stamped with designs using plant dyes. After this same tradition, this design was created using modern techniques.
